"Digital Ukiyo-e" & "UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage Sekishu-banshi Japanese Paper" Collaboration Commemorative The First Printing for Limited Sales
“Washi, craftsmanship of Japanese hand-made paper” has been on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity at November 27, 2014. This time, it has been added another two kinds of Japanese Paper, but the Sekishu-banshi Japanese Paper had been at 2009, already and that has never been changed about 1300 years using natural materials and clean well water. I use this paper without coating and etc, it is amazingly that nice fit for ink-jet print. And I have done an application for trademark registration of "Digital Ukiyo-e" to Japan Patent Office at October 24th 2014. The "Digital Ukiyo-e" is a compound name the "Ukiyo-e"=famous Japanese art and "Digital"=making process, and that make the semantics by naming for the digital works. This is my first challenge to collaboration of "Digital Ukiyo-e" and "UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage Sekishu-banshi Japanese Paper", and it maybe first using for the digital arts in the world. Please buy this special collaboration art.
I am interested in documenting and introducing the world to traditional Japanese culture. My main motif are the Japanese traditional festival and the environment. The characteristic of my works are simplification of the subject, exaggerated perspective, the color control with a feature, and that is to use as reference the characteristics of Ukiyo-e and I have named to "Digital Ukiyo-e(Registered trademark)". I began photographing at the age of 13 and belongs to The Photographic Society of Japan.
