Otokuni-tera Temple is famous for the peony in Kyoto-Prefecture, Nagaokakyo-City. According to the official HP. Prince Shotoku who received an Imperial order of Emperor Suiko, he was erected a temple to the principal image the Eleven-faced Kannon Bosatsu. That temple is Otokuni-tera Temple. When Emperor Kammu has been transfer of the capital in Otokuni at 784 year, Otokuni-tera Temple has been a large extension as the main of the seven big temple. Kobo Daishi (Kukai) had been as equerry of this temple by Daijokanpu (official documents issued by Daijokan, Grand Council of State) from Emperor Saga at December 9th 811 year. There are approximately 2km from Hankyu Nagaoka Tenjin Station to the temple, but the shuttle bus has been operating from Nagaokakyo Cultural Center during a period of The Festival of Peony. It was occasional rainy day I felt fortune because the direct rays of the sun was not fit for the shooting to flower of highly saturation.
I am interested in documenting and introducing the world to traditional Japanese culture. My main motif are the Japanese traditional festival and the environment. The characteristic of my works are simplification of the subject, exaggerated perspective, the color control with a feature, and that is to use as reference the characteristics of Ukiyo-e and I have named to "Digital Ukiyo-e(Registered trademark)". I began photographing at the age of 13 and belongs to The Photographic Society of Japan.
